Bear Exploration Center: Congratulations go to second-grade student Hannah Yost, who won four ribbons for her entries in the Creative Living Center exhibit at the Alabama National Fair. Yost placed first in the Lego Diorama division and placed third in the Lego Truck, Lego Space Ship and Geode divisions.

Bellingrath Jr. High: Congratulations go to students Sha'Kendra Bennet and Edward Richardson and school police officer Derrick Boykin for being named the school's Believers of Excellence winners for the week of Sept. 24. The Believers of Excellence Award recognizes students, faculty and staff who exhibit excellence in the areas of academics, character, leadership and/or work ethic.

Bear Exploration Center: Fourth-graders will visit the Alabama Department of Archives and History. Students will tour the Southeastern American Indian exhibit to learn about the lifestyles and culture of Alabama Indians. Students also will examine artifacts and tour exhibits on the Paleo, Archaic, Woodland, the Mississippian and other prehistoric Indian tribes.
